Why WCA Coaches

yellow underline

Research shows that having women in coaching roles is powerful—girls are more likely to stay in sport, and all athletes benefit from seeing women as confident leaders. However, the volunteer parent-coach model is under-delivering - only 25% of youth sports coaches are female.

WCA addresses this gap by building a sustainable pipeline of young women leaders (ages 15–26), who are trained, supported, and paid to coach in their communities. Through our leadership program, these coaches deliver high-quality experiences for players today—while growing into the leaders of tomorrow.

What Our Champions Say

yellow underline

I am very thankful for this collaboration, as we had players on the waitlist who wouldn't be playing if it weren't for WCA."

AYSO, Los Angeles County

Division Leader

The Women’s Coaching Alliance has strengthened our pipeline of youth sports coaches by connecting us with women who may not have otherwise stepped into coaching. Their training resources and mentorship have prepared coaches with the skills and confidence to succeed, which in turn has helped coaches feel valued and motivated to return. WCA’s visible presence of female coaches has also been a powerful factor in helping more girls feel welcomed and represented in our programs.
