Chip Hall was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and, as the son of two academics, spent the majority of his childhood moving between various college towns as his professorial parents sought out tenure. This took him from Connecticut to Toronto, Canada and then to East Lansing MI and to Kenilworth IL (north shore of Chicago) and then to West Point (his Mother was the first woman civilian to teach at the Academy) before finally landing in Durham NH. He spent enough of his formative years in New England to call the greater Boston area “home”. Though a lover of the East Coast (especially the Red Sox & Summer months), he came West to Stanford University in the Fall of 1988 to get his History degree, and has been in the San Francisco Bay Area ever since. He was lucky enough to marry his 1992 classmate and college sweetheart Christina (28 years and counting!), and they have two great kids: Sabrina (24) and Dean (21). They live in Palo Alto and also spend weekend time in their beach place in Capitola and Summer months on Martha’s Vineyard. He has a passion for food/cooking and loves to read, trading off between fiction and nonfiction and he also plays as much golf as possible. He spent his career in technology sales, marketing and partner development at various start-ups (Release Software, Fluid Ventures, Teracent) and established public companies (Yahoo! and Google). He received his MBA from Berkeley’s Haas School of Business in 2003 and was the Chief Revenue Officer at Teracent where which during his time there was acquired by Google. He was at Google for 14 years and ran Sales & Partnerships for two multi-billion global businesses, first the Google Ad Exchange and then the Enterprise side of Google Maps.  He retired from the company in early 2024 and was recruited by Stanford to lead the school’s Name, Image & Likeness (“NIL”) Collective. called Lifetime Cardinal  where he has been Executive Director since April of 2024.
